The EducationalTechnology Department
The Educational Technology Department is presently part of Curriculum and Instruction. The purpose of this department is to facilitate the integration of technology into the curriculum.

Our technical needs are outsourced to Net56. If staff members have technical problems, a phonecall to Net56 or email to helpdesk@net56.net is placed. Problems are resolved in a timely fashion.

About the Technology Program
Each school has a computer lab run by a Technology Literacy Assistant, with the exception of Central Junior High School. CJHS has 2 computer labs, run by certified Technology Teachers. One lab is scheduled quarterly for Tech Ed. The other is based on a flexible schedule which is a vital instrument in the learning process. It supports classroom curricula, collaboration with teachers, supports students as independent learners, and just in time access to information. Classes are scheduled on an as needed basis to accommodate special projects.

Technology Vision Statement
The vision of technology for Zion Elementary School District #6 is to strive for educational excellence through the seamless integration of administrative, informational and instructional technology. The success of realizing our vision will be based on a workable, cooperative plan between our district and our community. We will continue to find ways to leverage our telecommunicaions to increase communication and access to information with our stakeholders. Technology should be integrated in every curricular area as a natural tool for research, writing, learning, literacy, and publication so that we develop lifelong learners. Administrative and instructional support programs will be coordinated to implement a comprehensive, systematic plan for instructional technology as an effective tool for student learning.
